We play early on Saturday, with the best bet coming in race two courtesy of the Dan Clarken & Oopy Macgillivray-trained Angel Torque.

The four-year-old daughter of Harry Angel was a dominant winner here fresh as public elect, and that race experience at the track is a key advantage. Since then, she's tackled two hot form races, producing subsequent winners everywhere you look to frank her form.

Freshened for a month and kept sharp with a stylish trial win, she looks ready to peak.

Hunting for value, I've landed on San Lucido from the Jon O'Connor yard in race seven.

The gelding is going better than his form suggests and looks capable of producing a big run with the right luck. Last start he was no match for Extinguish, but that was more about race shape than ability. Caught too far back upon straightening while the winner enjoyed a picnic in front, striding along unchallenged before sprinting away.

This time, San Lucido meets her better at the weights with 3kg claimer Caitlin Tootell engaged, and with a more proactive ride he gets the chance to turn the tables.
