"We were lucky that when Jason was injured, James was without a ride. He showed good gate speed, controlled it well in front but let him run too which was a good controlled frontrunning run.
"With that type of horse, when he can rail around like that and put a big gap in the straight, they're hard to run down.
"He's still got a lot to learn and you can imagine he's an aggressive horse at home. He's a bit of a handful but we're winning the battle and hopefully he's back here next year for one of the bigger prizemoney races."
