FLEMINGTON

Group 1 - Coolmore Stud Stakes

(3yo SW - 1200m)

Race Result:

1st: Tentyris (A & S Freedman/M Zahra) - $2.90 fav
2nd: My Gladiola (J McArdle/J Mott) - $13
3rd: Legacy Bound (R Griffiths/J McNeil) - $31

Winning Time: 1:08.10 Last 600m: N/A

Margins: 2-¼ lengths x 3/4 lengths

Beaten jockey comments:

Adam Hyeronimus (Beiwacht): "He left the gates nicely and relaxed but he got quite competitive in those couple of furlongs leading to the course proper. I felt once we got onto the course proper he really lost his action and it took him a long time to recover but it wasn't until the last 100 metres that he really worked through the line."

Lachlan Neindorf (Mcgaw): "We had a plan to keep him out there by himself and get him into a rhythm which he did do. Felt the winner at the 300 (metre mark). At the 200 he was feeling the pinch too much.

Michael Dee (Tycoon Star): "He just isn't the same horse as what he was earlier in the prep. He might be looking for a bit of a break now."

Craig Williams (Skyhook): "He's a high quality horse but for a horse that was flat out halfway down to still run fifth, it just shows that he's not doing everything right but he's definitely a high potential horse."

Ashley Morgan (Hidden Motive): "He was disappointing. I thought he'd run up better than that. He wasn't that quick away, probably a different situation in behind horses today. He might've just felt the ground, he's a horse that wants good ground but wants a little bit of sting out."

Tommy Berry (Raging Force): "Should have been right in the finish. Travelled into the race well, got a split at the right time, and then the run got taken from us a little while after."

Ben Allen (Jimmy Recard): "The horse ran well. The track is firm. I just felt that he didn't let down to his best. He felt like the winner when he was on the bridle but he just didn't give us his all."

Jye McNeil (Legacy Bound): "Absolutely enormous run from him. He is going really well at the moment."

Blake Shinn (Beadman): "He got stirred up going to the gates before the race and raced similar. He didn't give himself a chance to finish."

Kerrin McEvoy (Skyglider): "He handled himself well on the quick back-up. Up the straight first time and got into a sport. He wasn't beaten far."

Jamie Mott (My Gladiola): "Really proud of her. Obviously disappointed not to win. Super proud of her and she's run a really good race. The winner was just too sharp when he showed his acceleration but she was really strong late and couldn't be more proud of her."

Group 1 - Howden Victoria Derby

(3yo SW - 2500m)

Race Result:

1st: Observer (Ciaron Maher/Mark Zahra) - $2.45 fav
2nd: Arcora (Trent Busuttin & Natalie Young/John Allen) - $61
3rd: Deal Done Fast (Matt Cumani/Daniel Stackhouse) - $31

Winning Time: 2:37.28 Last 600m: N/A

Margins: ¾L x ¾L

Beaten jockey comments:

Jamie Mott (Highvol): "He had a good run outside the winner. I felt he's just at the end of it."

Blake Shinn (Autumn Mystery): "Draw was always going to be tricky for him, had to go back, pace slowed mid race, didn't have a lot of luck getting through but he hit the line well."

Jordan Childs (Miewa): "Went super. Ended up back, had a nice enough cart into the race, got out and he hit the line well. He's going well."

Harry Coffey (Options): "Got a nice run today after jumping well, travelled really well throughout. It was a bit tight at the top of the straight, which sort of hampered his momentum, and then probably fully didn't round it out late on the firming track."

Craig Williams (Providence): "He ran really well; he stayed well today, relaxed. The favourite, the winner, controlled the race, was too dominant, but my horse is good and I think he has a lot of upside."

Michael Dee (Azazel): "He came into the race, I thought he was going to sort of keep running along, but when he can't get his toe in, he just doesn't feel that comfortable."

John Allen (Arcora): "He ran super. We had a got run but the leader probably got a little bit soft in front which didn't help our cause but we got within a length of it and for a stride I thought we'd get past it. My horse was very brave."

Kerrin McEvoy (O'sheamus): "He was in great order. Probably wasn't suited by a dash home, when I was building his momentum he got a little bit of a squeeze which didn't assist but he stayed on well."

Declan Bates (Amazake): "Ok. He just grinded his way home. Didn't have the smoothest run in transit but he's a horse that will mature a bit more and over time he'll get the trip, no worries."

Tommy Berry (Engine Of War): "He just wasn't able to execute that first couple of furlongs, trying to get cover with him, always going to make it tough for him. He stuck on okay."

Thomas Stockdale (Matsuda): "Navigated into the three-wide line for a bit of cover from the outside draw. Ultimately he failed to settle which told in his finish. With more maturity on his side, he'll be a better horse."

Jye McNeil (One Step Closer): "He ran fantastic, got a little bit further back than intended. Relaxed good, had a nice run through and ran super."

Ben Melham (Savisanta): "He ran well. Had every hope from the good draw, probably appreciate more give."

Jamie Melham (Mcwoody): "Third start in a race definitely showed today, he was just very immature and didn't know what was going on. Probably needs a break to mature a bit now."

Daniel Stackhouse (Deal Done Fast): "He was great. We use the barrier to settle and find a rhythm. When it turned into a sit and sprint he was a little bit flatfooted but got to the line very well."

Group 1 - TAB Empire Rose Stakes

(3yo+ F&M WFA - 1600m)

Race Result:

1st: Pride Of Jenni (C Maher/D Bates) - $4.80
2nd: Leica Lucy (C Waller/M Zahra) - $4.20
3rd: On Display (M Price & M Kent Jnr/B Melham) - $26

Winning Time: 1:34.42 Last 600m: N/A

Margins: 4-½ lengths x Neck

Besten jockey comments:

Kerrin McEvoy (Fangirl): "Great run by her. Obviously she had a lot of ground to make up. She gave a good finish closest on the line. Great performance."

Jamie Melham (Abounding): "She ran alright. She did the chasing when Jenni's breaking horses hearts. Just not the ideal race shape for her."

Blake Shinn (Damask Rose): "We followed Fangirl. The leader, she's just a champion. She brings every horse in the race undone and brought mine undone. She'll come back a lot better in the autumn. She's a really talented horse and this spring hasn't been for her. She's a lovely horse."

Craig Williams (Benagil): "That mare, the winner, she's a great mare. Credit to her and her rider and her training group. My horse, she ran well but was a little bit plain today. She could have been stronger through the line."

Mark Zahra (Leica Lucy): "You forget what it feels like to lose. What a great effort. I just needed something to cart me into the race. Never did. Good effort to run second."

Tommy Berry (Lazzura): "Massive run by her. Obviously with the gate we decided to run her quiet but we just didn't get taken into the race the way I would have liked. I was probably a pair further back than I wanted to be but her last furlong there was mighty. You think you're getting the rest of the field and you look up and still Jenni was five (lengths) ahead. She's a champion mare and she was always going to be hard to beat today."

Adam Hyeronimus (Firestorm): "I thought she's gone terrific. Obviously Pride Of Jenni has dominated the race but to finish as close as she did on a firm track, she's going well."

Jordan Childs (Splash Back): "She ran as well as she could. She's a get back horse and Pride of Jenni just breaks them up bit she still hit the line well."

Michael Dee (Idle Flyer): "Disappointing result. Just didn't help. We knew Pride Of Jenni was going to do something like that, but then we're having to bring the rest of the field up. Just didn't suit my mare."

Ben Melham (On Display): "Really good performance by her. I thought she went into the race over the odds and it didn't shock me to see her run that well and the best is still to come with her."

RANDWICK

Russell Balding Stakes

(3yo+ SW&P - 1300m)

Race Result:

1st: Jimmysstar (C Maher/E Brown) - $2.50F
2nd: Lady Shenandoah (C Waller/J McDonald) - $6.50
3rd: Mazu (J Pride/R King) - $26

Winning Time: 1:16.57 Last 600m: 35.86

Margins: 2¾L x Long Neck

Besten jockey comments:

Tyler Schiller (Briasa): "I think he has just had enough. He travelled lovely and had the winner where we needed him. He quickened better and got all the splits. We were left wanting. He has earned a break and has done a good job. Will come back better next time."

Tim Clark (War Machine): "I thought he executed much better today early in the race. Got himself into a good spot. Just struggled to pick up on that testing ground."

Nash Rawiller (Private Eye): "I was gone after 100m. Just didn't handle that ground at all. Lost all his confidence coming out of the chute. To his credit he picked up at the top of the rise and gave a good kick. Was forced to come down the worse part of the track I think."

Jason Collett (Rothfire): "Struggled in the ground today. First one under pressure a long way from home."

Josh Parr (Iowna Merc): "He despised the ground."

Joao Moreira (Strauss): "Disappointing race to be very honest because he did so much wrong and could have finished so much closer."

Dylan Gibbons (Waterford): "He did a respectable job. He got wiped out early and had to regather him after that."

Tom Marquand (Golden Mile): "Jumped into a really good spot early. Grabbed at the loose ground a few times. Probably just needed time to tighten up again."

Zac Lloyd (Airman): "Just didn't want to be there today. Never began, never travelled which is unlike him. Probably put it down to the ground."

James McDonald (Lady Shenandoah): "Gee she was brave on those heavy conditions. Class got her to where she has finished."

Rachel King (Mazu): "Super run. He is going really well that horse at the moment. He is getting better and better with age. Very brave today."

Alysha Collett (With Your Blessing): "Very brave run from him."

Chad Schofield (Coal Crusher): "Very good run. Did it tough from the widest barrier. Very brave and on track for The Hunter."

Regan Bayliss (Amor Victorious): "Terrific first up performance. In for a good prep."

Golden Eagle

(4yo SW - 1500m)

Race Result:

1st: Autumn Glow (C Waller/J McDonald) - $1.75F
2nd: Sepals (C Brown/E Brown) - $21
3rd: Evaporate (B, W & JD Hayes/N Rawiller) - $11

Winning Time: 1:29.72 Last 600m: 37.14

Margins: 1¼L x Long Neck

Beaten jockey comments:

Nash Rawiller (Evaporate): "He went good. Still a big boy. Didn't quite adapt to the Randwick way of going because he was awkwardly placed for a little while. Once able to flow on Autumn Glow's back he started to put it together. Felt the way we raced early, it made it difficult but to his credit he really kept digging deep."

Josh Parr (Feroce): "Speed went on in the race and unfortunately his wheels spun. Wasn'tt able to quicken."

Zac Lloyd (Linebacker): "Wasn't really himself today. Executed well and jumped well. Copped interference coming to the first bend and didn't appreciate the going. Never dashed as he can."

Ethan Brown (Sepals): "Super run. Inexperienced the Sydney way first time. Showed a lot of courage running into a superstar."

Tim Clark (Willydoit): "Got a squeeze out of the gates. Settled last and rode for luck. Continued to work through the line. Looking for further."

Regan Bayliss (Fully Lit): No comment

Jason Collett (Depth Of Character): "Really happy with his run. Just wanted to get the first half the race right which we did. He relaxed, found the bridle and was strong late."

Joao Moreira (Lord Penman): "Travelled OK half way through. From there on he was not comfortable with the going which is extremely soft."

Dylan Gibbons (Mayfair): "Really struggled in the ground. Hope he pulls up OK."

Tyler Schiller (Shangri La Spring): "Really good effort from him. I know he hasn't finished in the first bunch but I thought he did a great job sitting wide."

Braith Nock (Cristal Clear): "Very proud of him. Had to do a fair bit of work early. Gave a good kick."

Kohei Matsuyama (Panja Tower): "Couldn't jump as quickly as expected. Got further back than he wanted to with the leader coming back on his face at the top of the straight. Still ran well."

Tom Marquand (Seagulls Eleven): "Found a great spot early. Took a couple of false steps on the loose ground. Probably lost some confidence."

Rachel King (Perfumist): "Proud of her. She hated that track. Still stuck on well."

Chad Schofield (Modella): "Great run. Obviously an astronomical rise in grade for her but late she was running past better credentialled horses than her."
