Celebrations to continue for Colvin stable

Three from three was worth celebrating, but a few extra in the countdown to the end of 2025 would be the perfect result for the Gary Colvin stable at Wagga on Tuesday

Colvin won with his only three starters at Albury on Saturday and will line-up with a team of seven at his home track.

Reflecting on his training treble, Colvin said it was a bit different to some of his others.

"It's the first time I have taken three horses to the races and they have all won," he said.

"I have had a fair few trebles and four winners in a day a few times, but with more starters.

"The horses had been racing consistently leading up to the wins and it was especially pleasing to see Divon win first-up for the owners.

"She has a fair bit of ability, but has had problems."

There could be more wins in store at Wagga with the likes of Deflector ($1.95 favourite on TAB) in the Congratulations Mitch Castles-Manager Maiden (1300m).

The galloper is close to breaking through after five straight placings.

"Deflector keeps finding one a bit better and hopefully Tuesday is her day."

Pride Of Jezza ($4.20 fav) falls into the same category with a win and three placings from his past four starts.

Stablemate Super Nic ($5) will compete against Pride Of Jezza in the Team Thoroughbred NSW Training Academy Country Boosted Class 1 & Maiden Plate (1600m).

Super Nic looked to have the race won when she hit the front last start at Wagga over 1400m: "She goes up the mile for the first time and hopefully she can break through," Colvin said.

Pride Of Jezza will be fitter for his first run back and the mile suits and he is a winner at Wagga."

Freddy's Shock ($4.40) is another winning hope for the stable in the Ted Ryder Cup Day December 24 Benchmark 58 (1400m).

His only win was over 1400m at Narrandera and he was only beaten just over a length at his first start for four months when third at Wagga.

Meanwhile, trainer Danny Beasley has three starters with excellent winning chances led by the unbeaten Serenading ($2.80 fav) who has won her only two starts and steps up in grade in the SDRA Country Championships Class 3 (1000m).

She has drawn the inside gate with Beasley expecting another positive showing.

"She is only a three-year- old filly and I wanted to keep her down in the weights so elected to go for this race instead of the Class 2," he said. "It's a good test for her, but I like her a fair bit and think she will run well again."

Beasley also has Heavenly Kiss ($3.60 fav) in the Farewell Mark Hart MTC Track Manager Class 2 Benchmark 62 (1200m).

The race acknowledges Mark Hark who will be in charge of the track for his final meeting before retiring on Friday.

Heavenly Kiss has won two races for Beasley and was slow to begin when third at her latest at Albury: "She missed the start and I thought her run in the end was just as good as her first-up win," he said.

Beasley will also run debutant Under Wraps ($2.70 fav) in the Australia Day races at the MTC Country Boosted Maiden Hcp (1000m) .

Under Wraps was an impressive trial winner before being a late scratching when due to make his debut when he failed to load in the barriers.

There are four debutants including Burnt Crisp ($7.50), Forrest Dancer ($5) and Sloopy Girl ($18) who have also performed well.

Nefradite ($9.50) has the disclosed race form finishing second in two starts with her latest behind Miss Trentino albeit seven lengths astern. Miss Trentino has won her only two starts since at Newcastle and Canterbury.
