Winning Trainer: Mick Nolan
What he's done since the last run: "He had a couple of weeks out of Daniel Stackhouse's property. I brought him back two weeks ago and he had a gallop on the course proper Thursday and that's all he's done.
"I don't deserve much credit for this horse, he's pretty easy to train."
Daniel's feedback: "He actually watched a race with me and I will admit, I did say to Stacky at the jumpouts on Wednesday, I've never seen the horse look better.
"He's done a great. He thrived out of Stacky's.
Target this prep: "There weren't a lot of races for him and we happened to live in Mornington, and there was a race down there called the Mornington Cup, in the middle of April.
"So we thought we might target it and on the way give him a couple of 2000-metre runs and get to the Mornington Cup.
"He loves this place, though, doesn't he?"
On his association with Luke Cartwright: "Because they're both laid back creatures. They've both got the same sort of temperament, they take it all in their stride.
"For a young kid, he's going good, but I don't want to give him too big a wrap, or he'll start drinking his own bathwater."
Winning Jockey: Luke Cartwright
On his greatest attributes and today's win: "He's just so tactically versatile. You ca have him wherever you want and he always goes out and gives you 110%, and today that's exactly what he did.
"Obviously, he was on the freshen up, we knew he wasn't fully tied down today.
"I wanted to roll forward because I didn't think there was going to be a lot of speed early but they went a nice clip so I was able to tuck in behind them, settle beautifully.
"He was keeping it interesting in the last 50 metres, I wasn't sure if I was gonna pick him up but he loves a photo, finish this fella and it's good to get another winner for Mick.
"We all know he's helped me out a lot in my career, so glad to get a winner for him."
On his racing style and changing hands with the whip: "He doesn't lay in or lay out this fella, he goes pretty straight as an arrow, but I knew I was going to run close and wanted to get that extra little effort out of him today, and with the finish that happened, I fair say that's what got him over the line today.
"He really is a 'jump out the gates and assess the situation job' and that's exactly what we discussed before.
"There's always plan A, B, and C, but it's whatever you feel is right out there and today I thought they just went too hard for them, so we took a tuck and we paid dividends."
