Lady Shenandoah is the second Chris Waller-trained mare to secure a place in this year's field for The Everest after being confirmed for the $20 million race on Monday afternoon.

The glamour four-year-old will run in the slot owned by John Camilleri's Fairway Thoroughbreds.

Lady Shenandoah becomes the sixth horse confirmed for a start in the October 18 event, joining stablemate Joliestar who was booked in last week.

The daughter of Snitzel is owned by Hermitage Thoroughbreds, which is delighted to have secured a spot in the 1200-metre event.

"We are thrilled to see Lady Shenandoah gain a spot in this year's Everest," Hermitage Thoroughbreds manager Shannon Clarke said.

"It's a race that captures the imagination of the racing world and to be represented by a mare of her calibre is a great honour.

"We're also incredibly grateful to Fairway Thoroughbreds for their support and confidence in Lady Shenandoah."

Lady Shenandoah, a winner of the Flight Stakes, Surround Stakes and Coolmore Classic at Group 1 level as a three-year-old, resumed with a luckless second placing in the $1m Group 3 Concorde Stakes on September 6.

She is expected to round out her preparations for The Everest in Friday week's $2m Group 1 Manikato Stakes at Moonee Valley.
