Ladbrokes teams up with ‘Nursery of Champions’
Ladbrokes and the Bendigo Jockey Club have teamed up on a new three-year deal Wagering giant attaches itself to another of Victoria’s premier race clubs.
Victoria's 'Nursery of Champions' will undergo a new look from the new racing season, which commences on Friday, with the Bendigo Jockey Club welcoming on a new partner.
Ladbrokes have teamed up with the leading country club, striking a new three-year seal that will see the Ladbrokes name attached to signature events at the club.
Ladbrokes is now naming rights sponsor for the club's signature spring event, the $500,000 Group 3 Bendigo Cup (2400m), which will this year be run on October 29.
They will also sponsor the $200,000 Listed Golden Mile (1600m), which is the feature of event on the standout autumn card.
"Bendigo has always punched above its weight, and we are excited to be involved with the club as they embark on a new chapter," Entain Australia Interim CEO Andrew Vouris said of the venue that was the launching pad to greatness for the likes of Better Loosen Up, Shocking and Hyperno.
"We are proud to support the industries that support us, and this partnership recognises the contribution Bendigo has made to the Australian racing industry over decades.
"We see enormous potential in this partnership. With a passionate local racing community behind it, we're confident these races will go from strength to strength."
The partnership strengthens Ladbrokes' connection to Victoria's premier race clubs with Ladbrokes the naming rights sponsor at the Moonee Valley Racing Club and boasting existing partnerships with Cranbourne and Geelong, among others.
Bendigo Jockey Club CEO Paul Scullie said the partnership was significant for not only support of what the club is doing on the track, but also off it.
"This is a landmark partnership for the Bendigo Jockey Club and one that supports not just our feature racedays but our long-term ambitions across racing, community, and events," Scullie said.
"Ladbrokes aligns with our purpose of delivering an engaging and entertaining experience. Their support will enhance the on-course offering for both participants and patrons, while reinforcing Bendigo's position as one of Australia's leading regional race clubs."
Bendigo will host its first meeting of the new season on Thursday 14 August.
