Sandown Lakeside Race 3 - Zambardo

Very nice Australian debut from this former New Zealand horse, now with Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr. He was first up off 276 days at 1600m having last been seen over 1200m at Ashburton. The pace was good here with the overall time much faster (around five lengths) than the BM64 over the same trip later in the card. Zambardo settled in the second half of the field but hit the line strongly and should take plenty of benefit from that. He does have tactical speed and should be picking off a maiden next time out.

Canterbury Race 1 - Tyreek

Strong debut win from Tyreek for the John O'Shea & Tom Charlton yard, settling just off midfield but coming through them under Dylan Gibbons who rode the horse well and came clear to score by a head over Burma Star who has done some nice things in handy races. The time figure looks good and he'd been well backed off some sharp trials so there's every chance he goes on with it.
