Jockey Concierge Services to Join Racing SA
Racing SA has strengthened the network of support available to South Australian riders and their families, with the appointment of Eran Boyd in the part-time role of Jockey Concierge.
The Jockey Concierge will coordinate certain logistical elements in the event of a race riding incident or injury. This may include arranging flights, accommodation, ground transportation and meals for injured riders and their immediate family members, including apprentices. The role is designed to complement existing welfare and emergency response frameworks, providing an additional layer of practical, on-the-ground support to ensure riders and their immediate families are assisted during what can be a highly stressful time.
The appointment complements Eran's current role as SAJA President.
Ryan Stanaway, Racing SA Chief Operating Officer, said the initiative reflects a considered approach to strengthening rider welfare, "Riders, particularly those competing at regional and remote venues, can face logistical challenges when serious injuries occur away from their home base," Stanaway said.
"Ensuring family members can travel quickly and that appropriate accommodation and transport are secured can make a meaningful difference to the overall support experience. This agreement reflects Racing SA's ongoing commitment to rider welfare and continuous improvement in its incident response frameworks." He added.
Racing SA work closely with the SAJA and Eran in her role as SAJA President, and this additional service will help build out the network of support available to riders in the state.
