In Flight to travel again
Pride to send in-form mare to her third state in as many runs.
In Flight is certainly living up to her name of late, set to travel to Melbourne for the Group 3 John Monash Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on Saturday.
The Joseph Pride trained four-year-old has claimed back-to-back listed races at Doomben and Randwick at her past two starts and will seek a first win in Group company on Saturday.
"I will have In Flight in Melbourne so I'm going to go down there," Pride said.
Pride has booked Craig Williams to ride, who is currently sitting second in the Victorian Metro Jockeys Premiership to Blake Shinn.
"Craig Williams will ride her," Pride said.
"He had about twenty minutes warning and he came back to me and now knows more about her than I do.
"He is a freak. I love Craig.
"That definitely gives me confidence that he has watched her videos and been happy to jump on."
It will be the second trip in three weeks to Melbourne for the Sydney based trainer, who was on course at Caulfield on June 28 to oversee fellow Proven Thoroughbreds mare The Black Cloud, who was beaten a head.
Pride is not a regular visitor to Melbourne with just three winners in the past five years, however is confident In Flight can add to that tally.
"She has come back super. She couldn't be better. I trialled her during the week and she is going great," Pride said.
In Flight has won as favourite at her past two starts and is the early market elect for the John Monash Stakes, rated a $2.80 chance in the weight-for-age contest.
