French banker of the day - 24th February 2026
Tuesday’s French banker is a progressive four-year-old looking to land the hat-trick…

Louis Othon - (Christophe Escuder/Marvin Grandin)
Cagnes-sur-Mer – R8 – Prix de Cimiez
A first career success looked like being a million miles away for Louis Othon when he was beaten seventeen lengths into eleventh at Marseille-Vivaux in January but there's no doubt he's turned a corner since.
Returning to the turf with a first-time tongue-tie applied, Louis Othon put up an inspired performance under Cristian Demuro , travelling sweetly throughout before picking up well in the closing stages to get off the mark by a length and quarter.
A 5lb rise in the weights didn't prove enough to prevent the follow-up when returning to the same course and distance fifteen days ago and it's no shock to see connections back over the mile and a half at Cagnes-sur-Mer as they seek a third-straight success.
He's burdened with a further 7lb hike here but it's tough to ignore his upwardly mobile profile, while he appeared to have plenty left up his sleeve when scoring by a length and three quarters last time.
The Christophe Escuder team are no strangers to having success at this venue and their progressive four-year-old gets a confident vote to land the hat-trick.
