French banker of the day – 6th February 2026
Friday’s French banker of the day is a previous course and distance winner looking to get back to winning ways.
Incremental (Nicolas Caullery / Alexis Pouchin)
Deauville – R3 - Prix du Chêne d'Allouville
- Drops in class
- Previous course and distance winner
Nicolas Caullery may have his eyes firmly on Tumbler in this Saturday's inaugural Abu Dhabi Gold Cup, but he certainly shouldn't be forgetting about the chances of Incremental, who looks cherry-ripe to strike in the Prix du Chêne d'Allouville at Deauville this afternoon.
The six-year-old son of Kingman hasn't won since scoring here last August, but he's shaped as though a return to winning ways was nearing in recent starts, finishing an eye-catching fifth over course and distance in a competitive Class 2 handicap before a very similar effort back under the same conditions last month.
Both those efforts came in stronger company and it's also not hard to believe that one of them might have gone his way granted a clearer passage up the straight.
This afternoon's task represents a drop in class and from a kind draw in gate five, this previous course and distance scorer looks poised to put up a bold bid.
