French banker of the day – 5th February 2026
Thursday’s French banker of the day is an unexposed filly looking to get off the mark…

Siska (Fabrice Chappet/ Marie Vélon) Chantilly – R1 - Prix du Carrefour des Charmes
- Open to further progress
- Good second in this class last time
The opening Prix du Carrefour des Charmes looks like a competitive little contest for claiming level but I'm fairly sweet on the chances of Siska, who ought to be right in the thick of things with another step forward.
A nicely-bred daughter of Galiway, Fabrice Chappet's filly showed distinct ability when sixth on debut over an inadequate mile at Le Mans before taking a step forward to fill the runner-up spot when switched to claiming company at Deauville last time.
She proved that she handled the step up to this trip on that occasion as well showing that the switch to an all-weather surface was no problem, so it's no shock to see connections find a similar contest for her this afternoon.
There should be plenty more to come from this unexposed three-year-old on just her third start and with further progress on the cards, she gets the vote to get off the mark from a potentially useful inside draw in stall one.
