The Magic Millions carnival rolls on at the Gold Coast this weekend with the running of the $3 million Sunlight 3YO Plate and two other million dollar races on the competitive ten-race card.
Our best of the day lands in the Sunlight Consolation 3YO Plate in the form of Miss Freelove out of the Peter Snowden barn.
This daughter of Tassort is a touch unlucky to not gain a start in the main feature after finishing third at Group 3 level at Flemington before the spell. She has been given a bit of a tune up with a recent Rosehill trial and is sure to be up to the mark from the astute stable.
Loves this sprint journey with two wins and two placings from five attempts and maps ideally for this contest from gate four. Gets the services of winning hoop Tim Clark in the irons and should be going very close.
Our next best arrives earlier in the day with another Tim Clark mount Shiki competing in the race two 2YO Fillies event.
She was impressive winning the Group 3 Gimcrack Stakes on debut before being tipped out for further time to furnish. Has since returned with a fourth behind Warwoven who has franked that form with a dominant Eagle Farm win last weekend. Warwoven is currently the even-money favourite for next Saturday's 2YO Classic.
Another who has drawn favourably in gate five and should give backers a sight up on speed.
