Winning Trainer: Peter Moody & Katherine Coleman (Peter speaking)

After missing the Oakleigh Plate: "She didn't lose any work. It was (occured) only on the eve of the Oakleigh Plate and it (the abscess) popped straightaway.

"We thought she might have got there but she was slightly tender on race morning. With those big ones you've got to be 110%.

"It was a good back-up here and it is a great advertisement for the VOBIS scheme and a pleasure to get some VOBIS dollars.

"Good ride by Ben Melham. Lovely to see him and Stackhose get their horses to use their speed. We've seen these straight races be a walk, trot and canter and with 60-kilos, you want to nurse but you don't want to fight them.

"I thought it was beautifully executed."

Next: "She is deserved of a group one. We'll follow the black type. I reckon a race like the Sangster isn't an unrealistic goal.

"How we go about getting there, she doesn't mind a bit of soft ground. Maybe Sydney at Easter time. Do we have a throw at the stumps at The Galaxy in three weeks because we missed that chance in the Oakleigh Plate? There aren't too many handicaps at that trip.

"Maybe a Galaxy then you'd love to think a Sangster back in Adelaide for the Pope family who have strong roots there."

Winning Jockey: Ben Melham

"She's a very honest mare and she's not overly big. She did a good to carry this weight against the boys.

"It was pretty straightforward. We were able to lob outside of the leader with a reasonable tempo with Midwest.

"You've just got to keep her happy and flowing. She was very honest in the finish under the big weight.

Missed the Oakleigh Plate but good enough: "This is an indication of how she is going but she couldn't make it there unfortunately.

"A bit of weight relief compared to today with 56 or 56.5-kilos, she would have been very competitive."
