"I messaged Mitho [Anthony Mithen] and Macca [Ryan McEvoy] a message at 6.30am this morning to say that I wasn't sure about a Heavy 8 track. He didn't handle a Soft 7 track 12 months ago in the Champagne Stakes, so I was a little bit worried but to the boys' credit they said let's have a crack. It was an amazing win and I'm sure Peter Busustow was carrying him the whole way there because it was a dominant win."

"J-Mac said the track was terrible then when he won a race, he said it was lovely! It just depends on the individual horse whether they handle it or not. Fortunately my fella handled it very well."

"He's twice Group 1 placed, so hopefully we can go one better. We're here for a three pronged attack, it's onto the Fred Best next and then the Stradbroke is his grand final."

Winning Jockey: Josh Parr

"That was very enjoyable. The moment I found the position on the fence, I was really confident due to the speed of the race. He relished the ground, pulled me into the race at the top of the straight. Just after his two softish recent trials, I was hoping the track didn't bring him undone and leave him vulnerable. But I trusted in his ability, and I was very glad to get the victory."
