2025 LET'S ELOPE STAKES - RACE HISTORY AND BACKGROUND

The Let's Elope Stakes is a Group 2 race run under Set Weights and Penalty conditions for four year old and up mares at Flemington conducted by the Victoria Racing Club.

The Let's Elope Stakes is run over 1400m. It was first run in 1987 and was won by Take My Picture.

The Let's Elope Stakes has always been run at Flemington and over 1400m.

The race was originally known as the Milady Stakes but from 1994 was renamed after the 1991 Caulfield and Melbourne Cup winner Let's Elope.

It was a Listed race until 2004, Group 3 race until 2009 when it was upgraded to Group 2.

Pinker Pinker won in 2011 and three runs later won the Cox Plate.

Atlantic Jewel's little sister Commanding Jewel won consecutive editions in 2013 & 2014.

Amelia's Jewel won her first race on the East Coast winning in 2023.

The Let's Elope Stakes was worth $300,000 in 2025.
