「简短休战」出生于美国，服役期间在爱尔兰驯马师德莫特·韦尔德手上受训，曾赢下过圣詹姆斯宫锦标赛，并且在包括育马者杯英里赛在内的其他几场顶级较量中跑入过三甲。

退役之后，「简短休战」在爱尔兰、瑞士和澳大利亚都做过种公马，在澳大利亚的配种功绩最为卓著。

「简短休战」的子嗣之中，澳洲马迷比较熟悉的有考菲尔德杯的冠军「抨击」、蓝钻石锦标赛的冠军「真正珠宝」以及TJ史密斯锦标赛的冠军「赤目驹」等。

2011年，年老体迈的「简短休战」停止了配种活动。

在离世之前，「简短休战」受到了病痛折磨，不过据悉它并未与病痛抗争很长时间。
